The method was invented in 2007 by Lorraine Massey, who described it in her now famous book ‘Curly Girl: The Handbook’. It is a hair care method that trades harmful habits for a healthy curly hair regimen, using only nourishing products without sulphates, silicones and parabens. “Frizz is just a curl waiting to happen.” – Lorraine Massey The basics: Step ‘0’: Final ‘reset’ wash Wash your hair with a sulphate – filled shampoo to remove the silicones and wax buildup from your strands. Step 1: Cleanse Wash your hair with a co-wash or sulphate – free shampoo Step 2 : Condition Srunch a handful of conditioner through your hair until its fully saturated. Detangle with fingers or wide-tooth comb. Rinse out conditioner. Step3: Style Rake and scrunch gel into your soaking wet hair. Step4: Dry Remove excess water with a microfiber towel or t-shirt. No heat drying please. Once your hair is 100% dry scrunch out the crunchy gel cast. Step5: Keep going Keep at it. Your hair has a transition period after which you will see results. Now, the author has subsequently made comments in social media about changing her view on certain things previously not mentioned in the book like for eg: Low poo.

Please check the Ingredients list carefully before using any products. We will do our best to keep the ‘Ingredient lists’ of all the products up to date but suppliers can change the Ingredients or labels without giving us any notice. SheCurls is unable to warrant against these errors.
